IDEAPAD LENOVO 320 headphone jack replacement

Hi. The aux jack on my Laptop is only working on the Left channel. This is a hardware problem, not a software problem, since the right channel will work if I position my aux cord at a very specific angle. I want to know if there is any way to fix this problem or replace whatever part of the laptop connects to aux cords. Thank you.

Welcome to the Lenovo Community !

 

Unfortunately the audio port on your model is not on a separate card that can be easily replaced.  The port is soldered directly to the motherboard.  Its replacement would require finding the part and then having soldering skills to attach it.  This type of repair is best left to a computer technician.  If your system is still under warranty then I would recommend that you send it in for service and have the motherboard replaced.

In the event warranty is no longer an issue then you can have it serviced at any computer repair center provided they can find the needed part.

 

Have you tried using some compressed air to blow out the audio port?  Possibly there is debris in the port preventing a good electrical contact.

 

Have you tried another aux cord?  Possibly the problem is related to the cord you are using.

 

An alternate to the port replacement is to use a USB audio adapter such as these......
