I have a brand new Lenovo IdeaPad 110s. It has 32GB of storage. I followed the set up screen instructions and then checked for updates. It gets 95% through the updates then says there isn't enough disk space.
I haven't loaded anything onto this laptop. No photos, no videos, no music, nothing, it is brand new, yet the hard drive is almost completely full.
I've tried disk cleanup and uninstalling the preinstalled games and apps but the storage is barely moving.
Please can someone help? I'm so frustrated.
Thank you in advance :-)

Hi Ellie-Elz ,
Welcome to the Community Forums.
Would you have the machine number to check on other options for the system.
Additional storage would help adddress this issue.
Here are additional article on freeing disc space that can help .
Update us soon as convenient.

I just bought an Ideapad 110S and discovered I have just 5 GB of free disk space.
After following your instruction for creating a recovery drive,
I ran disk cleanup and selected the "Cleanup system files" option.
But after a while, I didn't have the same list of file to delete you have.
I have no "Previous Windows installation" on the listing.
Could you help me?

I'm having the same issue with an IdeaPad 110s.Fresh out of the box and less than 8GB of space available so I'm afraid the machine is not fit for purpose and will have to go back. Tried the process of backing-up as explained in the earlier thread but no luck. Windows 10 seems to be taking up 16GB of space.

Win10 is approx. 8Go espace
Directory winsxs is the problem so :
Install Dism++ and play with cleanup 2 or 3 times rebooting computer
Then y ou will have your 8Go free to install last win10 update
Please use next a memory card as your D: and move apps into
Use dism++ regulary in futur to reduce winsxs dir.
happy new year !

Daughter ideapad 110s now with latest windows 10 ver. 1709 and 9Go free space into C:
1- create USB drive with ISO files of last windows 10
2- insert another memory with free space min. 10Go then run the setup.exe from 1-
3- wait from installation can be long was 12 hours for me !
4- next to update cleanup system files for removing windows.old dir. as said before in this thread

Sadly I am not posting to offer you a solution, more to just share your frustration!
I have excactly the same issue with my new Ideapad 110S. Brand new and not enough disk space on it to complete a standard W10 update! Really????
Fortunately, I only got it as an additonal 'word processor' and do little else with it, but it's hardly fit for purpose!
Really annoyed that I did not research it's shortcomings prior to purchase but did not expect it to not be able to complete a basic function!
I have read the freeing up space solutions on this forum, but as someone who is not technically 'savvy', the posts, although gratefully well intended, mean little.
Back to the box and a dusty storage for this inefficient piece of hardware I am afraid.
