IdeaPad 330s-15IKB touchpad not working

Hi guys, I bought yesterday a Lenovo IdeaPad 330s-15IKB-81F5 (i7 + radeon 535 variant). I'm really happy with this notebook, but I couldn't get the touchpad to work (or to work for few seconds and then it stop). I try to press the "touchpad disable" button, Windows is updated, I try to download "Lenovo Vantage" and I even try to download similar model driver (as on my model page there's no driver for touchpad: https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/it/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/300-series/330s-15ikb/downloads). I also try to contact the Lenovo support, they suggest to press power button for 60s, & if not work to return my pc to the shop as the touchpad is broken.

As the touchpad is detected as "HID I2C device" or "Mouse compatible HID" depending on how it is detected after reinstallation I'm pretty sure that is a driver problem, not an hardware one(?). So, where can I find a compatible driver without trying all the similar one to my pc?

Hi Poppo,

 

Welcome to the Community Forums.

 

I believe that you have gone through the trouble shooting steps (Steps like uninstalling the driver from device manager trying Windows drivers update and official drivers from the support site) after calling tech support.

 

It should even work from out of the box so better call in the store to inform them. Lenovo Vantage suppose to update those needed automatically.

Hi spidey, thanks for the fast respose!

That's the problem, I can't install official driver because there's no driver for the touchpad in my model page: https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/it/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/300-series/330s-15ikb/downloads

Also if the touchpad was broken why  would it activate sporadically?

In any case I will bring the laptop back to the store for a change, even if it bores me a lot because I will have to re-download all the programs Smiley Sad

Greetings.

 

I was thinking of some loose cable internally but considering the duration of store return period, it is a faster way to get a new one and enjoy computing.

 

Don't forget to reset it before returning.
