IdeaPad 530S15IKB wifi keeps disconnecting

I just got my laptop yesterday, and the wifi keeps disconnecting. Every few minutes. I don't know if this is something that could be fixed by an update. Anyone else have noticed such issue? Thanks.

Re: IdeaPad 530S15IKB wifi keeps disconnecting

Hi tabishz,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Type device manager on the search box to open it and check the WLAN card.

Would it show 8822BE? If the driver is version Realtek_2024.0.2.101 then try updated driver from Thinkpad E580 -  version 2024.0.5.103          .

You can also right click the wlan card on device manager to choose properties and uncheck option to power save under Power management tab.

Update us how it goes.

Regards

Re: IdeaPad 530S15IKB wifi keeps disconnecting

Thank you, I am still experiencing network issue, however it has improved after updating the drivers that you mentioned. It doesn't disconnect completely as it was before, however, the network performance is still unreliable compared to all my other devices for example in the screenshot below, the latency time increases to 700 times more than normal every few seconds. I have tested my other older laptops at the same spot on the same wifi network, and nothing like this happens.

This causes issues like, i was copying files to my network drive and they fail because of this intermittent lag.

And this issue persists regardless of where I ping, I 've tried pinging 1.1.1.1 and 8.8.8.8 same issue. This current ip is local router's (Google's onHub) gateway ip.

Re: IdeaPad 530S15IKB wifi keeps disconnecting

Hi tabishz,

Greetings.

Good to see that the disconnection issue did improve for the better.

With the other spikes on the ping, you can try:

Change Bandwidth setting under Advanced driver properties from 80Mhz_40Mhz_20Mhz to 40Mhz_20Mhz.

Update us how it goes.

Regards

Re: IdeaPad 530S15IKB wifi keeps disconnecting

Thank you for the reply. I tried that, however, I still am facing the spikes and occassional timeouts. I also tried 20Mhz Only in Bandwidth and while I was at it I played with some other settings as well, "Multi-Channel Concurrent" from "Enabled+Hotspot" to "Enabled", Preferred Band from "None" to "5Ghz" first. But I still am experiencing the same issue.
