I have had this device for 13 month. 8 months after I purchased it, I worked with Lenovo to diagnose a problem with the power cord and that was replaced. One month after warrenty expired, device would suddenly power off, but would power back up, with or without cord. After approximately 1 week of this, it would only stay on with power cord attached even though battery indicated full. Then suddenly would no longer turn on. Tried to use my extended warranty thru Costco. Was sent in to their repair station in Lawrenceville GA. They reported to Costco that there was water damage (which Costco won't cover without my having purchased another different warranty from them) and that the repair amount was over $700 (more than I paid for the machine). I am a former IT employee, now retired, and I have NEVER spilled anything on this device. I cracked the back open and looked for damage or for any tags that had changed color on motherboard, or a possible detector on motherboard that had changed color. Don't see anything - no corrosion. Just prior to machine not turning on again, I connected to the Lenovo diagnostics and ran the dx on this laptop. It showed no errors. Are there any water exposure stickers on this device? and what would indicate water damage? thanks for any assistance

Thanks for using the Lenovo forums.
Get in touch with the support again, and ask them to specify where they have found the water damage to be.
Check the connections, see if the damage might have occured in there
