Re: IdeaPad L340 (15”) Gaming Laptop - Connecting 144 hz display.
Can I use a 144 Hz display with my IdeaPad L340 (15”) Gaming Laptop?
Can I use a 144 Hz display with my IdeaPad L340 (15”) Gaming Laptop?
Hi Erin2020,
Welcome to the Community Forums.
You can use a144Hz display although we cannot guarantee same frequency performance since the L340 certified specification display as follows:
supports external digital monitor via HDMI;
supports dual independent display;
Max resolution: 1920x1080@60Hz (HDMI)
I hope this helps answer your query.
Regards

Thanks for the replay but the model I have is L340-15IRH with 9th gen i7 processor and a 1650 GPU. The document which you gave is for Ideapad L340-15IWL which is not mine. Can you please check for my L340-15IRH model and tell me if it is possible to have a 144 Hz display w/ HDMI 2.0 or can I use the USB Type C Gen 1 to connect a 144 Hz display?

Or is it possible to use such an adapter to connect my laptop w/ a 144 Hz display?
Hi Erin2020,
Product specs list for L340-15IRH also shows the same 60 Hz certified at max 4096x2160 resolution .
supports external digital monitor via HDMI;
supports dual independent display;
Max resolution: 4096x2160@60Hz (HDMI)
It can project but we cannot commit to the 144HZ as it's only 60Hz that is certified even if others would claim.
You cannot use the Type C since it do not have DP(display port) features, only data transfer and power delivery to charge devices (5V/1.5A power specifications).

Thanks again for the replay. The document only says it supports 4k @ 60 Hz but is it possible to connect a 1080p display with 144 Hz?
As you mentioned before about the USB Type C, I'm using an adapter right now to connect my external microphone and I saw a web post says that it is possible to use the type c port as display port, I'll give the link below, please tell me if it is possible to use it as a DP with a connector.
