I am unable to connect to an external monitor via HDMI.
CPU: i3 5005
Win 10 x64
Intel HD 5500 VGA driver version: 10.18.15.4279 dated aug 24 2015.
The external monitor and cable is set to accept HDMI signal, but does not get it from the laptop. Both cable and external monitor is tested to work as external monitor. The problem lies with the driver. Can anyone confirm that this Intel driver supports external monitors?
Please tell me which driver works with win10 x64 and Ideapad 100 to support external monitors?

After 12 days of struggle I solved the problem, now all works fine. I bought a 3rd brand new cable, just to have a last try, called HDMI-HDMI 3D 1.4. in the local Metro store and suddenly everything worked fine. The problem was with the cable, but it was not obvious as one of the two other cables (one a really expensive brand new gold plated version) was working for a few minutes, so I thought the problem must not be with the cable...but it was. I was about one day from sending back the machine for repairs or exchange....
Right now I am running WIN10,
Intel Graphics HD 5500 VGA with driver 10.18.15.4279 dated 8/24/2015
The HDMI cable is a cheap no name white colored cable 1.5m long labelled 3D 1.4 on package, can be bought at METRO here in Budapest for about 5 euros
Monitor, generic flat screen HD 1920x1080 (brand Q24)
You start second screen with F10 button or by pressing Win button+P.
I hope this helped.
Regards from Budapest!
