Ideapad 100S-11IBY - No audio output device installed

2016-04-27, 1:41 AM

Just installed a bunch of fixes from Windows Update today 27 April, Australian time. According to Windows Update, the PC is now up-to-date.

However, I have an error "No audio output device installed" and investigating a little further "A problem with the driver for Intel SST Audio Device (WDM)". The suggested fix is to reinstall the driver and restart the PC. After reinstalling the driver, and restarting the PC, I stll have the error and the problem.

Anyone got a suggestion for getting working audio output again ? BTW, the PC is being used as-is, and does not have any headphones, speakers or microphones plugged in to it.

**bleep**. Restarted again (for a different reason) and the error and the problem have gone away.

I love computers. NOT.
