Ideapad 100s being unbearably slow

I got and started using my Ideapad 100S yesterday and installed a security software and Microsoft Office. Today I tried to start doing schoolwork on it and it was being so laggy - it took me about 10 mins to successfully open a Google Drive document . I also tried watching a TV show on HBO online and it was incredibly laggy and hard to watch. For some reason my laptop is just being slow in general and on top of that the mousepad is barely working and super slow to respond. Why is it being slow? I've had it for 24 hours and it's incredibly frustrating because I was counting on this laptop to be able to function for my basic school needs and it's hardly capable of keeping up with what I type.

Re: Ideapad 100s being unbearably slow

Welcome to the Forums Hanna!

I found some additional tips on what could be done and tried all of them:

 - Downloaded video drivers (both Intel and Nvidia) from Lenovo

 - Changed energy plan / mode, from Balanced to High Performance

 - Used option to remove Dust from Ventilator (from Lenovo Energy Management)

 - I ran virus scan

 - Rebooted computer

Let us know if it helps.

You have no choice...Get rid of Windows 10 and install a Linux distro.....Peppermint is the distro I used and the laptop works fine now.....Google on how to do it
