I bought this Ideapad 100s in April and have just recently started using it. It works well when it is plugged in, but I can't use it when it is unplugged. Every time it is switched on without the power, the screen flickers off and on, as though there is a loose connection between the main part of the computer and the monitor.
Is it possible this could be something to do with power settings - since it only happens when it is unplugged - or does it sound like my computer is faulty?
Thanks for any help you can provide.

Thank you for using the Lenovo forum
Below is a link to a Post with some good points to try, it is for a different unit but the steps are the same.

Thanks for your suggestion.
Unfortunately the Intel ME Firmware returned an error after installation that it was not approved for the device.
The Intel Graphics Driver for Windows returned the message 'This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software.' I checked to make sure that I was installing the 32-bit Windows option.
I also used the Device Manager to search for updates for the monitor and display drivers, and found that I apparently have the most up to date.
It doesn't look like anyone who tried these has reported success either.

This has been diagnosed as a battery fault. It was suggested by a store that a replacement battery would solve the problem. I can't find these batteries for sale in the Australian Lenovo site. Are you able to suggest somewhere to purchase one, or is there a way to get some use from the laptop without needing a battery?
