Ideapad 110 15 - Sound from Speakers

2017-06-09, 14:20 PM

The audio emitting from the speakers on my new Ideapad 15 110 is just terrible and tinny. Had to purchase a bluetooth speaker to resolve this issue. Anyone have similar issues with this laptop. The sound is perfect when played through headphones and through my wireless speaker.

Mod's Edit: System model added to the front of Subject line to improve visibility / clarity.

HI Edbo11703,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Would you be having an issue with the quality of sound or was it just too low?

Ensure that you have an updated audio driver similar to those on the support website and having maximized volume (F3).

Checking further on the hardware manual (page44), as it shows that the model has only one speaker and not that big, I would expect that the volume may be lower than others similar to this discussion.

Regards

Oh! No wonder why the sound it terrible. One speaker! My Bluetooth external speaker has resolved my problem and I recommend this solution to those having speaker issues on this laptop. Other than the sound, I have no complaints with this laptop. (This is a backup laptop to my 17" Dell 5000 series).

Hi Edbo11703

Greetings.

Similar to audio reviews it has, sound is not as promising as the others having only the basic single speaker.

Nonetheless, it can still deliver general computing need with perhaps workarounds would include accessory devices like your BT external speakers.

Hope this help answer your initial query.

I have the same problem. Mine a 110-15ISK has a single speaker in front bottom of laptop. Can't hear it even if I turn volume to max. Sounds as if I have a small ear bud speaker blaring at maximum volume. Unfortunately have not found a solution other than using headphones or bluetooth speaker. Not so much concerned with having only one speaker and not stereo. But at least Lenovo could have installed one decent sounding speaker.

I too feel the one speaker is the primary issue and the solution may only be to use a external speaker or headphones. The one speaker must be a poor quality and size because even at full volume it does not produce a range that even covers vocals well. I did not expect that poor of quality in a speaker, not that I expected optimal sound out of a budget laptop. But clearly this single speaker wasn't even worth the trouble.

One year on and Lenovo have learned nothing .

Even one speaker should be enough to here the laptop play a game.

My 15 ast i can just here it my moblie  phone is far louder i cant here people talking.

For the power of this laptop of mine to be let down by rubbish speaker BadBad Lenovo.

You should tell people when buying , they are going to have to use headphones or buy a speaker !

P.S Lenovo are you going to refund cost of speaker Please???  :(
