I am using a Dynamix 3.5mm Y cable with mic and headphone plugs for PC.
The input plug to Combo Jack is tip- ring – ring – sleeve. One jack socket coded
with a black sleeve (assumed to be for headphone)
Jack socket with red sleeve assumed to be Mic.
My problem – I cannot get any audio opt no how .I need help pronto.
Btw. The Y cable input jack plug to the Combo Audio seems to me to be quite a loose fit. Is this normal?

From other posts, I like the idea of using an USB audio interface and forgetting the Combo Audio Jack as just a bad dream. Where can I source a suitable USB audio i/face in NZ I wonder?

First off I think many problems with this setup happen with bad audio drivers. I think a pop up menu is supposed to come up when you plug in an audio device and ask you to define what device it is to correctly set output or input. I noticed this kind of setup doesn' always work. You may try and get into the third party audio screen and seen if settings are not correct. I ended up uninstalling and let Windows install the driver. Audio used to be a given to always work, not sure why there is so many audio issues these days?
