My machine tried to do a system update and all went well except for the bios update.
Idea BIOS Update-10-V.1.47. The update failed and I got a message that said This BIOS is only for the Lenovo Paris do you want to go ahead and install? Any ideas?

Hi there, Jen -
Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.
I reset the bios to factory settings, and disabled the secure boot entirely and it updated! You could try with just the latter first, else do a full reset.
If you reset you might find that the system won't boot from the hard/ss drive. You have to switch UEFI to "Both". At least that is what I found.
Update us how it goes.

Hello, I also got this same message today when Lenovo Companion said it wanted to perform an important update after I accepted.
I checked the bios I have which is D5CN28WW
My machine is the IdeaPad 300 300-15ISK.
I checked Lenovos site and I see there is a critical BIOS update listed for the ideapad 300-14IBR & ideapad 300-15IBR.
Does that mean I need to update the BIOS as I have 15ISk which is not listed as needing a critical update.

Hello and hope all is going well? My question is this, does the Lenovo Ideapad 300 require an actual BIOS update? I'm concerned that this will damage my system. Please can someone help that knows?
