I own an Ideapad 310 15-ISK. It comes with a 1TB Hard Drive and I want to add an SSD ( solid state drive) by replacing the optical drive and I was asking what are the dimensions of the caddy to put ssd i've to buy ?
Because in specification, form factor of optical drive is 9mm and all of the caddy are 9.5mm.
Thanks in advance.

There are some who say that you can squeeze a 9.5mm caddy, but there are also universal 9.0mm caddys that might work, but I have not tried to use one myself.

The company below claims to sell a caddy for the Ideapad 310, but do not state whether it is 9.0mm or 9.5mm, but you might contact them at email@example.com and find out if it is truly compatible.

thanks for your answer.
i've contact them and they answered me : "it should be compatible. It is tested and delivered to other customers."
But i've another question : how to fix it in the laptop ? beacause there are no screws at the back of the caddy. It may move no ?

I would have to see exactly how your original is mounted, but it should have a bracket attached by a screw to the back of the existing DVD/CD drive, which you can then swap over to the new caddy as shown in the video below. The new caddy should already have the hole present on the back of the caddy to accept the bracket, since although the brackets vary, nearly all laptops use one to secure the drive. I would check with them just to be sure, but I would be surprised if the mounting hole was not present on the one that they are selling, but you might ask them if they include a screw, just in case the treads are different than the current one.
