Ideapad 310 - Dolby Audio (preinstalled) is missing components

I have a new Ideapad 310-15ABR running Windows 10 Home which came preinstalled with a Dolby Audio driver. However when I click the item in the system tray (or try and open it in the Start menu) I get an error message stating that installation components are missing. This has been occurring since I bought the laptop.

I've tried updating all my drivers both automatically and via downloading from the Lenovo website, and I've even tried uninstalling Dolby Audio and reinstalling from the website, but the problem still persists.

Re: Ideapad 310 - Dolby Audio (preinstalled) is missing components

Hi gabrielr,

Thanks for posting and welcome to the forum!

Hopefully by following the instructions in this thread will help resolve the issue, although it's based on a different device, the process is the same. Just be sure to download the drivers from the Lenovo support page for your device.

Let us know how you get on.

No luck. It's giving exactly the same error. I'm sure it was a complete reinstall as the Dolby icon didn't appear in the tray after I'd uninstalled and rebooted.

I noticed a strange thing in Programs and Features, this item (Windows Driver Package) at the bottom, which looks like some kind of corrupted or half-uninstalled driver:2017-02-16.png

but when I try to uninstall it I get this weird response:

Re: Ideapad 310 - Dolby Audio (preinstalled) is missing components

Dear gabrielr

I had the same problem after updating Windows 10 as this is how I solved. Uninstall the conexant driver in Devices Manager. Uninstall everything related with Dolby in Control Panel. Download the latest version of Conexant Smart Audio from Lenovo website. Install this driver. In the directory C:\Drivers\Audio Driver\Source\X64 (or 32 bits) uncompress DAX2Config and run setup, uncompress DolbyAPI and run setup and finally uncompress DolbyGUI and run setup. Restart the computer and you will have your Dolby running !!!!. Hope this helps.
