I tried to use the internal camera on my Ideapad 310 yesterday to Skype with someone and it is not working. It has previously worked but now not matter what I do I get a camera icon with a line through it. I have updated drivers and checked all of the boxes, nothing. Lenovo UK support is truly one of the worst, ineffective, lazy, good for nothings. Their support is just there to infuriate their customers who have paid hard cash to get these products. They seem think I just contact them to bother them. Someone needs to see that instead of supporting they are just a sales prevention team.

Thanks for using the Lenovo forums.
Sorry to hear your experience with the support, have you at all attempted FN+F8, I believe this is usually the hotkey for the camera, I coud be wrong with your unit.
Also, Try a static discharge for this, it may help to resolve the issue or at least get rid of any built up static on the motherboard.
(If the battery is internal, please just skip the remove/replace battery steps.)
1. Turn the unit off
2. Remove the battery and the Mains adapter
3. Press and hold the front power button for 30 seconds
4. Replace the battery and the Mains adapter
5. Turn the unit on as normal
Hope this helps, let us know how you get on.

Battery is internal. Walked through the process step by step and nothing changed. If you know what model of machine it is that I am using, then how come you didn't know the battery was internal or not? You can see from the screenshot below that the window for the camera is gray showing a camera icon with a line through it. When I click the camera shutter images that are produced are just shown to the left in the screenshot. They are all just thumbnails of the same thing. I have opened the settings panel but nothing looks particularly out of place.

I had been having the same problem too for a while until I realized what the laptop had done. To fix this go to Lenovo Vantage:
Then turn camera privacy mode off.
If the mic does this too scroll down and do the same
Hope this helps you!
