Downloaded USB Recovery disk last night and did recovery on my laptop. However I get the Preload fail message with a different error message. I found a few preload fail topics on this forum but none for this particular error message. Please help.

Exact same problem as crisxruiz - recovery terminates with 'Preload Fail' screen:
[E00PMLWW MCAFEE LIVESAFE] NOT FIND C:\SWWORK\IPGLOGS\MCAFEE.LOG
Attempting to restore an IdeaPad 310-15ISK, Type 80SM. I am using USB recovery media created using Lenovo USBRecoveryCreator.exe, acquired directly from Lenovo support.
Lenovo, is there a workaround? Very frustrating that the entire restore process fails because Mcafee trial software can't install properly.

I chatted with the technical support, they told me it was caused by the McAfee's time check logic. when it detected that you are no longer eligible to use the free trial, it refused to be installed. so if we change the BIOS time to an earlier time, like some on 2018, the recover process will complete without issue. Or you can try to use Ctrl+Alt+Q to skip that failure step.
