Hi, I'm wondering if anyone has any experience or can guide me in installing an SSD in my newly purchased ideapad 330-15ICH. I have not yet attempted to open up the laptop. My initial thought was that I can surely live with the pre-installed hard drive, but it's just sooooooo slow with a 5400 rpm disk in games...

Welcome to the Lenovo Community Forums.
You may find the steps on how to install SSD on our hardware maintenance manual here: https://lnv.gy/2ouncch (Page 45-46).
Please feel free to post in Lenovo Community Forums if you have any further queries!

Thank you very much for the response. I could not find this manual myself, but this seems to be exactly what I need. I did not expect a separate M2 slot, but this is perfect!! I was thinking maybe I could replace the existing 5400 rpm hard drive with an SSD, but this is even better (if I understand correctly).
I will post back with the results and mark as accepted solution once I have had the chance to actually try this out.

I successfully installed an M.2 SSD in my laptop while leaving the original 5400 rpm 1 TB disk inside. Removing the base cover was a bit tricky and I was worried I might break something but it went well. I used an old credit card to pry open the hinges on the back side then worked my way around “breaking” it open gently.
I dis not have to remove any other component, the M.2 card slot was easily accessible.
After changing boot priority (F2 or fn+F2 as you power on) I installed Windows 10 from a USB installation media I created with Microsoft’s official tool.

Hey I'm actually thinking about getting this same laptop.
