Recently i purchased the 8th gen core i3 version of the ideapad 330s which comes with a slow 1TB 5400 rpm HDD.
I'd like to install an ssd in the M.2 slot present in the laptop.
I tried installing Western Digital greeen SATA III M.2 SSD of 120gb and it did not work. After some research i found out that the notebook does not support SATA III SSD in the M.2 slot.
The other option that i can go now is M.2 PCIe NVME SSD , but i'm not suer that it will be supported in the notebook.
The Hardware maintenance guide specifies the storage it has as HDD and M.2 PCIe .
Can u guys please assist me with this issue as i cannot buy one which does not work and waste money.

Some: M.2 SSD / PCIe 3.0 x 4
Some: M.2 SSD / SATA 6.0Gb/S
Your machine type and model is needed.
If you found PCI/e NVME per your screen shot, that should be your choice.

128 GB PCIe SSD + 1 TB SATA HDD supported. NVME PCI/e is what you need.

Thank you. Let us know the results. Because I wasn't able to find any 120GB NVMe SSD. The lowest capacity for NVMe SSD is 250GB.
Only 120GB M.2 SATA SSDs are available.
Here's the link to buy 970 EVO 250 GB. Its the cheapest I could finy anywhere online.
Eagerly waiting for the results.

Yeah, I saw that too. But that final price of the item comes dowm to Rs. 7116 (which is hadly Rs. 2400 less than the Samsung 250GB). And we'll have to wait around 20-25 days before the item gets delivered and there won't be any warranty as well. Hence, I put it out of the equation.

I'm telling about the model only,
we can get a better deal in other sites or in local market.
