Ideapad 500 15ACZ Horizontal Screen Flicker

I have a frequent (at least 50% of the time) problem with my system.  When I maximize an application, I get a rapid 2.5" wide vertical flicker from top to bottom on the screen.  Usually, it's on the right side of the screen, sometimes it's in the center. It occurs in multiple applications, including multiple web browsers, Excel, File Explorer, and Media Player but only when it is maximized or the application is touching the edge of the display.  I called Lenovo twice.  They had me update the video driver twice (same driver) and then open the BIOS set up screen.  Since the problem didn't occur when the BIOS screen was up, they said it was a software problem and recommended that I do a factory reset after saving everything.  I did. The probem still exists.  I have Norton Security.  I have applied the Norton screen flicker fix to the system.  No joy.  My work around has been to open applications and resize them to almost fill the screen, so the flicker doesn't occur.  I'd be grateful for any suggestions or a solution.

Hello WontBuyAnother,
When you did the factory reset, did you test the unit before installing any aditional software or updates? It does sound like it is a piece of software on the machine that is causing this.
