Ideapad 510-15ISK - Partition Info

Hi,

Is anyone able to provide a quick run down of what all these different partition are for (please refer to attachment) ? Many thanks in advance if anyone is able to throw some light on the situation.

I'm about to clone my disk and I'd like to know if I need to include all of these.

Kind Regards

Re: Ideapad 510-15ISK - Partition Info

You should clone over all partitions.

EFi -required

C -required

D - holds copy of backup drivers and possible location for Lenovo Rescue system backup

Winre- windows standalone Recovery Environment

Lenovo_part - Lenovo Rescue system

OEM partition -1000 MB probably related to Lenovo Rescue system

Re: Ideapad 510-15ISK - Partition Info

OK - so I finally got round to cloning my drive. I went from 1TB HD to a 500GB SSD using AOEMI Backupper. For some reason the OEM partition ( see attached ) wasn't included in the cloning process and when I installed the newly cloned SSD it failed to boot. I opened a separate thread for this issue here :

https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-IdeaPad-1xx-3xx-5xx-7xx/HD-to-SSD-issues/m-p/4191101#M59001

Any idea why the OEM partition wasn't copied and is it important?

Re: Ideapad 510-15ISK - Partition Info

Hi razorpig!

We've checked on the AOEMI Backupper cloning software and there is an option to clone sector by sector. That's the time that you would be able to copy all the partition.

Can I use that option if I'm going from a 1TB (HD) to a 500GB (SSD) drive?
