I've just received an Ideapad 510 and am using it intensively for the first day. The fan seems loud to me -- and it almost constantly runs (not all the time, but 80% of the time, and the CPU load never goes above 35%). Lenovo tech support tells me that the fan should be almost inaudible, but on mine, it's not super loud (like a rattling) but it's just lound enough to distract me when I'm working. I'm wondering if this is normal for this laptop (in which case I'll wish I never bought it) or if it's a hardware issue?
EDIT: I just downloaded software called "RealTemp" that reads the temp of the processor. With system load of 6.5%, temp on system is 118 degrees Farenheit/47.7 degrees Celsius; this doesn't seem normal, right?

For whoever reads this with a similar problem. I fixed it myself by updating drivers. There are three drivers released 6/28. I updated all of them and now the problem seems to have resolved itself with the fan noise. Hope this works for some of you too.

Hi, I'm having the same problem with the fan, and wondered if you could let me know which specific drivers you updated. I like the laptop, but the noise is beginning to drive me crazy! Thanks.

could you find a solution to this problem?
I bought my lenovo ideapad just a few days ago and the fan is runnig almost all the time and sometimes really loud. If it stops it stops then just for a few seconds until it starts again (RAM 8GB 256 SSD). Unfortunately i can't return it and it's already really frustrating...
I'm thankful for every advice you all have!!!

maybe your system is running " svchost.exe " . this task causes extra cpu and ram usage that result more fan rotation .
check your task manager . remember to tick on " show processes from all users "
