Ideapad 510 ISK bad sound

Recently purchased IdeaPad 510 ISK but it has really bad sound (Harman speaker and Conexant SmartAudio HD).
When listening to the sound comes from a barrel. The sound is good if you raise the laptop and "Listen" from below but you should not turn the computer over to listen.
Is there any solution because the speakers are from below?

Re: Ideapad 510 ISK bad sound

Hi there, Slada            -

Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.

You can also start by flushing out all static, remove battery and AC adaptor and hold down power button for about 15 seconds.

Could you confirm whether static noise coming from speaker?

Update us how it goes.

Shashi_Lenovo, thanks for your reply.

No it is not audible static noise from the speakers.

Difficult to explain but the feeling is that the speakers are in the other room, far from here, and are "covered with felt", no matter the that I'm sitting at the computer (I must raise the volume to over 50%  and I hear really good : Smileywink: ).

I have updated all thrivers (speakers also).

Excuse me, I'm a little suspicious if I understand correctly: You mean I should run computer without connection to the battery or electricity in 15 sec. and since then leave back batery and turn on the computer?

Re: Ideapad 510 IKB bad sound

  • Remove the battery and any other peripheral device connected to the computer.
  • Hold the power button for 10-15 seconds and then connect only the AC Adapter and try to turn ON the computer.

Update us how it goes.

Re: Ideapad 510 IKB bad sound

Hi, ther!

I got a Lenovo 510-15IKB, same soundcard, all updated etc. I didn't notice until a few days ago (have already had the laptop for about 3 weeks or smth) that the sound became somewhat metallic (dunno if that's correct, but that's what it makes me think of) or as if the laptop was in a barrel - there is kind of a distortion involved.

Now, since I can't take off my battery (at least no way that I know of that doesn't void my warranty), I cannot try that method of troubleshooting. Anybody with the same problem?

Regards,

Alex

Re: Ideapad 510 IKB bad sound

After doing a little "digging", I found that only uninstalling and reinstalling the driver for the conexant HD audio solved the issues. That's probably the solution so there's that. Smiley Very Happy
