Does this laptop have soldered memory already on it, if so, how much? I've read the maximum supported RAM is 12GB, right? That would mean 4GB is soldered on and that 8GB can be added? My system only shows 8 GB so I thought it had a 4 GB stick in addition to 4 GB onboard but when I went to look at it, it already had 8 GB in it. When I added a Crucial 8GB DDR4-2400 (CT8G4SFD824A)
stick it would not boot. What is the problem? Does this laptop have 4GB onboard or does all its memory come from its one 8GB stick? If so, can it support one 16 GB stick?

Welcome to the Community Forums.
DDR4-1866 MHz / 2133 MHz / 2400 MHz, SODIMM × 1 (max 8 GB)
The board do not have any soldered ram and offers single slot that currently have your 8GB DDR4 (PN 1AG710 8GB DDR4 2400 SoDIMM).
Some claims that it works with 16GB but manufacturer recommendation is 8GB max.
I hope this helps answer your query.
