Hi all, I hope someone can help me. My 8 day old Lenovo 520 i7 8th Gen gets extremely hot when playing a game online. It also has very bad lagg. My network is fixed fibre and measures 20Mbps which is extremely good for our region. Apart from that the battery does not last 2 hours when fully charged. When I plug in it takes almost 3 hours to charge fully? Is that normal? I have had a previous Lenovo G500 Laptop for 7 years and the battery still lasts 4 hours when fully charged? Looking forward to any help?

Welcome to the Community Forums.
Windows 10 does have a lot of added features running in the background that may still consume additional battery power. You may try running the machine in safe mode to check if it would last longer than 2 hours. If not then we are sure there is a battery issue.
There are discussions like here that describes short battery span which is expected to a 2 cell battery which does depend upon usage. Observing some tips like setting brightness perhaps to 70% and disabling some non essential start up (clean boot).
Using softwares like ThrottleStop on this post claims to help the lag during gaming. My concern is the heating (too hot to touch as you described in your private message), which I suggest updating drivers and BIOS from the support site or using Lenovo Vantage.
If you have already done so then I suggest that you try to contact the store or keep calling the tech team for your region (+27 112 017 745 8:00-17:00 Monday-Friday) and have this reported.
Update us how it goes.
