My Lenovo ThinkPad 700 occasionally gives me a warning that my battery is running really low (e.g. 6%) while it is actually above 80%.
Here's how it happens. First I get this warning (notice the little battery icon to the lower right):
But as soon as I close the warning message the battery status shows as follows:
This problem is happening randomly and is very annoying because once the warning messages start, they keep repeating several times until they finally stop.
It doesn't happen if the laptop is charging.
The laptop is running Windows 10 with the latest drivers off the Lenovo Support page.
Device Manager shows 2 devices under Battery dropdown:
Microsoft AC Adapter (ACPI\VEN_ACPI&DEV_0003)
Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery (ACPI\VEN_PNP&DEV_0C0A)
Is there anything I can do to stop this from happening?

Since you have the same issue it cannot be a coincidence. Could be a serial error on these laptops. I didn't get any help from Lenovo yet. Do you have any suggestions where I could direct my inqury to get this going faster?

Good news, the new bios E5CN60WW seems to fix this problem. try it out.
Mod's comment: This post was marked as the Solution based on members' feedback.
Lenovo has since updated the BIO to E5CN61WW and it will contain the same low battery warning fix.... click here for that version.
