Ideapad 700 15isk CPU temperatures

Hey guys!

Did you stress your i7 6700HQ? What temperatures did you get? When I stress mine, or render video and turbo turns on, two cores get 90-94 degrees. Some say it is normal for laptop processors, some say the thermal paste should be replaced.

Re: Ideapad 700 15isk CPU temperatures

Hi there, Jrsman          -

Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.

I still wonder why people like to stress test something when it is indeed working fine.

This is something like "Would you run your car at max speed once every month to check if it works fine at that" (It’s a hazard to your life, others and the car)" Or "Would you print 2000 pages from your home printer at one go, to see if it can do it".

The software’s used for stress testing are unrealistic, they put so much load on the GPUs / CPUs which you will never be able to put under normal gaming. Now, maybe your GPU paste may not be good anymore or your GPU just lost performance.

Update us how it goes.

Re: Ideapad 700 15isk CPU temperatures

Hi,

thank you for replay, As I wrote, it occurs also while rendering video, which uses almost 100% of all cores, so conditions are more or less the same while stressing CPU. The laptop is almost brand new.

EDIT: I did stress test because I noticed hight temperature while rendering video Smiley Wink

Re: Ideapad 700 15isk CPU temperatures

Intel cpu could safely go up to 100c. At that point the cpu starts to throttle, decreasing performance in order to decrease temperature.
