Ideapad 700 warning by Lenovo Solution Center test

Hi,

I bought my ideapad 700 15.6" 2 days ago. I use LSC to run a test for my notebook, and I got 2 warnings:

SMART Drive Self Test: WARNING

Result Code: WHD01V000-WL7YYH

GeForce GTX 950M Stress Test: WARNING

Result Code: WVC00R000-WL7YYH

May I know whats the problem? I am able to do a 1-to-1 exhange within 7 days if the unit has problem. So please help feedback whats the warning about? Is it some hardware problem?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Ideapad 700 warning by Lenovo Solution Center test

Hi Bayee,

Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.

This kind of S.M.A.R.T (Self-Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Technology; often written as SMART) test errors occurs only when there is issue with system HDD (Hard Disk Drive) or SSD.

Smart test - issue is related to HDD drive and you have to get it replaced with our authorized service center.

Secondly, I still wonder why people like to stress test something when it is indeed working fine.

This is something like "Would you run your car at max speed once every month to check if it works fine at that" (It’s a hazard to your life, others and the car)" Or "Would you print 2000 pages from your home printer at one go, to see if it can do it".

The software’s used for stress testing are unrealistic, they put so much load on the GPUs / CPUs which you will never be able to put under normal gaming. Now, maybe your GPU paste may not be good anymore or your GPU just lost performance.

I don’t know about the error code. My advice is just not to do stress testing anymore.

The user should ignore the warning information of the stress test.

Let us know how you get on.

Regards,

Shashi

Re: Ideapad 700 warning by Lenovo Solution Center test

Hi Shashi,

Thanks for your reply. I am doingthe stress test to make sure the unit has no HW problem after I bought it. As I am given 7 days to replace the unit if something wrong.

Anyway, I have brought the unit to Lenovo Service Center, and the technician run the test with your inhouse tool and said that the HW has no problem.

Thanks again.

Kind Regards,

Bayee
