My ideapad 710s continues to drain the battery even when shut down. I've reviewed all the appropriate setting to make sure it is not going into hibernate mode and everything is set to shutdown. When I shut down I use the Windows | Power | Shutdown option. I do not have anything plugged into the right hand side usb port. When I start the laptop I get the coloured Lenovo logo screen.
The battery drain is 5-10 % per day.
The laptop was new in January and I'm farly sure this problem started when I upgraded the bios.

Have you defined a BIOS power-on password?
My Ideapad 500-15ISK had symptoms somewhat similar to yours, and I think that a contributing factor was the BIOS power-on password. (I define a BIOS power-on password to make my laptop valueless to the thief who steals it.)

Welcome to the Community, delighted to have you here.
Have you tried checking if there was any BIOS update for the system? You can check the BIOS form support.lenovo.com. If there is no available update, I would recommend that you get in touch with Lenovo Warranty Support in your region and have the system serviced.

Welcome to the Lenovo Community AndrewHH !
One additional suggestion..... try holding down the SHIFT key and then select the Shut Down option from the Start Menu. This should force Windows into a complete shut down.
