Re: Ideapad 720S-13IKB connect to TV

Hello Bolton

Thanks for using the Lenovo forums.

Not a 100% sure, but try to download the Video and Chipset drivers for the unit from the support page. Make sure to reboot after an update on the unit.

Hope this helps, let us know how you get on.

Re: Ideapad 720S-13IKB connect to TV

Thanks for your reply.

Already update the Video and Chipset driver by the Lenovo Companion software.

But its still can't output to TV by the HDMI adpater.

No problem for connecting to computer monitor. So, the adapter seems ok.

Is there any requirement for the HDMI adapter?

Re: Ideapad 720S-13IKB connect to TV

I may be in the wrong here, but is it possible that the HDMI cable is not the right version?

I wasn`t even aware until recently that there are different versions of HDMI cables let alone ones with ethernet, so it may be that you have to try a different version of HDMI.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HDMI#Versions

Otherwise, I`m not exactly sure, has it worked on the other TV you tried?

Let us know how you get on.

Re: Ideapad 720S-13IKB connect to TV

I am having a similar issue when using the HDMI port on the laptop to connect to a TV.  The image on the TV only shows a portion of my laptop screen and I have never had this issue with my other lenovo laptops.  I've try adjusting setting in the Intel Display properities and on my TV.

Maybe the Intel 620 GPU driver needs to be updated? I have the latest driver from Lenovo's site.

Re: Ideapad 720S-13IKB connect to TV

I have an issue with my 720s displaying on my TV from the HDMI cable.

I have played with the Intel display programme, but the image is just flickering on my Tele. I have searched the forums and no answers.

Re: Ideapad 720S-13IKB connect to TV

This works if you force the laptop to use Intel drivers vs Lenovo Intel drivers. I downloaded the updated driver from Intel directly (google Intel 620 driver) and installed the driver manually via device manager.  Now the laptop can display at 1080p at 60hz.  Hopefully Lenovo will update the drivers soon. Seems like this laptop hasn't seen any driver updates since September!

Be careful when you do this as Lenovo doesn't completely support that driver.
