I've had my ideapad since November and today I've been having a very strange but very annoying crackling sound problem all of a sudden. I cannot listen to any music or watch any video. I was using my computer until late last night with no problem whatsoever.
I tried updating the realtek driver but it made no difference. The weird thing is it comes and goes. Now that I'm typing, the sound is perfect, but 2 minutes ago it wasnt. It seems to tip from bad to perfect sound in a matter of minutes.
Any ideas? I don't think it's a hardware issue because as I said, my computer is still perfectly capable of emmitting a perfectly clear sound.

Thanks for using the Lenovo forums.
Sounds like could be a potential loose connection perhaps.
Try a static discharge for this, it may help to resolve the issue or at least get rid of any built up static on the motherboard.
(If the battery is internal, please just skip the remove/replace battery steps.)
1. Turn the unit off
2. Remove the battery and the Mains adapter
3. Press and hold the front power button for 30 seconds
4. Replace the battery and the Mains adapter
5. Turn the unit on as normal
Hope this helps, let us know how you get on.
