HI.. My laptop ideapad flex 14 now already have 4 Gb ram ddr3
Now I want to upgrade to 8,
Some of my friends told me, that it is not safe.
Make the motherboard become hot and reduce the lifetime of my laptop.
Because my laptop only have 1 slot of memory Ram
Any suggestions from expert here??

Hi Budir79 ,
Welcome to the Community Forums.
There are times that added ram may contibute to additional heat as common for overclocked systems as it request the CPU and board for additional requirements . Same reason why most OEM set recommended standards for functionality and maintainance .
You may also get recommended part number from the FRU listing by downloading the hardware manual from the documentation tab of the support site. This would also inform the specifications for your system and max ram.
Example: for Lenovo Flex 14/Flex 14D/Flex 15/Flex 15D :
Part number : 11202080 DDR3L 1600 8GB M471B1G73QH0-YK0
Part number : 11201301 DDR3L 1600 8GB HMT41GS6AFR8A-PB 8GB DDR3L 1600
Part number : 11201514 DDR3L 1600 8GB SM322NW08IAF 8GB DDR3L 1600
Part number : 11201304 DDR3L 1600 8GB MT16KTF1G64HZ-1G6E1 8GB DDR3L 1600
Hope this helped answer your query.
