I bought an IdeaPad 120S (MTM: 81A4) a week ago and I would like to know, if I can charge the Laptop vie a Type-C USB cable instead of regular power cable?
According to this LINK it should be possible, but I am a bit scared to try it.
Can anybody confirm if it is really working?
Thanks so much in advance.

Hello Tob81, welcome to the Community,
The PSREF for the 120s 81A4 doesn't state in the "Media Reader Ports" section that a DC-in function is available as it does for other systems' PSREFs such as the Yoga 920. As a result I would conclude that No charging by USB Type-C is unfortunately not possible on this system, sorry it's not what you wanted to read.

thanks for your reply and bad news.
I tought it.
I also was at the shop yesterday and we tried to charge with a powerbank and it didn't work.
However, the laptop is pretty good anyway and I will survive carrying the AC power plug all the time.

The website is very misleading about this-- it's one of the reasons I bought this laptop.
"The Ideapad 120s comes equipped with a Type-C USB port for your convenience. Compatible with other charging devices, you won’t need to purchase additional cords or chargers. That’s one less thing to worry about."
