If your model of 520 15IKB have a physical m.2 slot , then a m.2 ssd PCIe is the choice of add on storage. Always best to have it check before any purchase.

I have the motherboard image posted earlier showing part number: 5B20Q15602 MB L81BF I58250U N17SG1_4G D4G FP NOK to compare on other board with the m.2 slot. You can use the part number also here.
If you have an IT department or a service center nearby, then maybe you can ask them to check too.

It looks like this Does have an M.2 slot. I believe you can either use INTEL OPTANE memory with it or perhaps a qualified vendor list of M.2 drives. Mine isn't populated yet at this time.
I can confirm that it does have a single 4GB soldered Memory onboard, and in addition to this, it does have 1 slot Under a silver square covered spot on the bottom right side where the additional removable ram slot can be replaced with another memory stick if one desires to upgrade it. My particular laptop was populated with SAMSUNG memory.
WITHIN THE REMOVEABLE SLOT:
It's a SODIMM memory 2666Mhz , 4GB onboard.
If you're getting a replacement motherboard then you'd know that this has a single slot where you can place the memory in it.
