Welcome to the Community Forums.
Check if have an updated BIOS from the support site.
Making sure that there are no 3rd party applications/processes running in the background you may try placing the machine on a clean boot disabling unnecessary start up or better yet restores to the original image.
Allow the machine to normally drain until 10-20 % and allow it to charge ( 2-3 hours) before turning on.
The battery indicator LED (page 29) should have noticeable change from fast blinking amber to slow blinking white as it charges. This procedure is similar to manual doing battery gauge reset and at the same time mechanically check charging integrity.
Similar to this discussion for comparison purpose:
"This is my approximated battery life for my usage. Web Surfing (Facebook, Youtube, Google) : 5 hours
Watching Video (at 1080p) : 3.5 hoursGaming (at 1080p/60fps) : 2 hours"
If after this steps that you would have the same battery performance even when screen brightness set to 80% then it would be better to call in technical support for needed service.
Hope this help answer your query.
