The 6LCN22WW(V1.08) 27 Aug 2018 update now worked for my machine. No errors this time.
I unfortunately did not do a before and after comparision directly. So everything I tested might also be just due to room temperature drivers etc. difference. Not really professional, I know.
I did not notice the fan behaving differently (unfortunately) They kick in just as soon as before.
However doing a cinebench CPU test, I now get highter results with my i7 8550U processor.
I did multible tests back to back and the results ranged from 407 to 421 with a constant clock speed of 1.7 - 2Ghz (different cores). This for me is a increase as I was hanging around the 350 mark before (Tested it when I first got it 1 Month ago).
Core-Temperatures of the CPU never exceeded 60°C which is (as some already mentioned) is really, really low for a laptop. There would definitely be more headroom fore more agressive turboing here!
I just installed the bios, so I have to wait and see for a couple of days if there are other things that I notice. If there are, I will report them here. Looking forward to hear other opinions about the V1.08 bios.

Seems like it doesn't; I also just updated the bios and did a quick stress test and it disables turbo when under prolonged high cpu load. Turbo still behaves the same way i.e. randomly go on and off in normal use, but most definitely off and caps at 2ghz when doing extended workload.
So it seems that we still gotta use throttlestop to manually boost & finetune CPU performance

I must admit that the new bios absolutely does NOT bring anything new ... The same mistakes - random turbo shutdown, fans working in irrational moments, throttling set so low that probably a team of developers who built it intentionally wanted to mock users Lenovo computers ... I do not suspect them of such a low knowledge: P ... I admit that I have not seen such an embarrassment for a long time and unfortunately I have to 'recommend' = NOT buy Lenovo brand products !!!

This is 'interesting' ... when the kernel reports that the turbo boost is not supported ... it works, but when the error is gone, the clock is blocked at 1800 MHz - evidently someone in Lenovo has 'messed up' something in the bios ...

I was on Bios v1.0 (LENOVO 6LCN14WW) until I saw your comment so I went to update my bios to v1.08 my score was 552 in Cinebench R15 to 309 with v1.08 bios. Thottlestop isn't working with v1.08.
with v1.0 My clock speed goes up to 3.8ghz with 40-50% cpu load and in cinebench i was getting 3.0ghz to 3.5ghz stable with -0.125 (552CPU score)
with v1.08 i'm getting max clock speed of 2.0ghz underload for everything
Anyone know how I can get V1.0 back?
Thanks to ext73
Getting 576 CB score R15 with v1.2
