Lenovo Flex 14 Notebook: Wifi disconnecting while on battery

2019-05-13, 14:07 PM

I have Lenovo Flex 14 notebook and when I start using it on battery, the Wifi gets disconnected randomly every few minutes or so. When the power brick is connected it is just fine. I tried two different Wifi networks and the same problem happens. Any ideas?

BTW: It is still under warranty

Hi skdutta!

Welcome to the Lenovo forum discussion!

Please try the steps below:

1. Open the device manager > go to the Network Adapter and expand it.

2. Right click on the Wireless adapter > choose Properties.

3. Go to the Advance tab > look for Roaming aggressiveness and set it to High. Then, choose Transmit power > set it to High as well and click on OK. Restart the laptop and test it again. See the sample image below. Update us back with the outcome.

Regards,

Sorry, my wireless adapter does not have these settings. Please see the pic attached. Instead, I made the Roaming Sensitivity High now. It still happens!

My settings are the same.

I did go to the Power Management tab and disabled the "Allow the computer to disable this device to save power" option.

I will post again after a day or two to say whether or not this helped.

Hello skdutta!

If you've performed a power drain: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/troubleshoot/lpt000352 and reset the modem by unplugging the coax cable and power then do this:

1. windows + R then enter ncpa.cpl in the search bar

2. right-click the wireless network and select "properties"

3. click "configure"

4. go to the "power management" tab

5. Uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"

Thank you for the details. Uninstall wifi drivers via device manager. When the confirm uninstall box pops up, check the small box that says delete drivers and click ok. Download the wifi drivers from our support website: https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/flex-series/ideapad-flex-14-notebook/downloads and install. Let us know how it goes.
