I have the same question for my Flex 14 (not flex 2).
But I was not sure so I have finaly decicided to open it and discovered that it has and M2 but quite small => 2242
I have researched for the highest capacity and decided to get the 256GB My digital M2 from USA

As an update - I had a look to see if a 42mm ssd would fit. Unfortunately it does not. Some measuring and digging around indicates that is a 30mm (2230) slot - A/E keys. Nobody yet sell an ssd of this size.
The only hope that I can see of is an extender such as the one here: http://www.amazon.com/P12S-P12F-M-2-NGFF-Extender-Board/dp/B00IPOT3O2. It looks like there is enough free space inside to take it, though uncertain.
This would however require a PCI-e based ssd (the 2242 ones are usually sata ones), and based on people's experiences of upgrading the wifi, we'll be at the mercy of the hardware whitelist (as it's pci-e based). It looks like most pcie m.2 ssd's are 2280 size or bigger too, which might be pushing the room.
Given the cost of the adaptor and right size/type ssd, the total cost is close to a decent 500GB 2.5" SSD, so I don't think I'll be attempting it. Plus I'd still lose the built in wifi
Have a happy new year!
