Hi mizrahm,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

It may not be possible to upgrade with NVMe PCIe SSD.

Checking the specifications from the hardware manual shows HDD: 2.5-inch, 7.0 mm SATA II/SATA III and SSD: 128 GB / 256 GB, SATA III for the cihip controllers only.

The board have PN 5B20S94689 (MB C 81H7 NOK I36006U UMA 4G) with integrated gpu designs would not have the slot also for it.

I hope this helps answer your query.

Regards

In continuation of the above question, I checked in the Ideapad 130-15iKB hardware manual that the 256 GB SSD is mentioned as the maximum possible size. Can I instead replace my 1 TB HHD with a i TB SSD?

Sure you can. But the maximum M.2 size is also not 256GB. That is just what has been tested by default. You can also buy M.2 2280 NVMe 1 or 2TB drives and they would most likely work.

Thanks Benji, does my lenovo-ideapad-130-15ikb (Serial# MP1E4KDR) has a M.2 slot. Sorry I tried searching the partslookup but could not figure it out.

This is the motherboard used in your laptop. Unfortunately it does not have an M.2 slot, so you will be left with switching out the integrated HDD with an SSD. Also some bit of advice: To prevent abuse, please post your model only or the MTM (In my case, Yoga 530-14ARR and 81H9003VGE), but not the serial number.
