Re: Lenovo IdeaPad 330-15IKBR - PCIe SSD slot

Hi Fabian_Cba,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

General specifications does mention:

Some: HDD / SATA 6.0Gb/s, 2.5" wide, 7mm high Some: SSD / SATA 6.0Gb/s, 2.5" wide .

Some: M.2 SSD / PCIe NVMe, PCIe 3.0 x 4, 32Gb/s (e.g. xxxGB SSD M.2 2280 PCIe NVMe)

Some: M.2 SSD / PCIe NVMe, PCIe 3.0 x 2, 16Gb/s (e.g. xxxGB SSD M.2 2242 PCIe NVMe)

This would likely depend on the variant of the IP 330 so it would be better if you share the machine number /MTM (ex. 81DC012CRA) from the sticker or from here so we can check the systemboard specially if you have not personally inspected it personally.

Update us soon as convenient.

Regards

Re: Lenovo IdeaPad 330-15IKBR - PCIe SSD slot

Hi Fabian_Cba,

Greetings.

Checking your systemboard PN 5B20R06295 do not the available m.2 slot so it is not possible to add m.2 PCIe NVMe SSD stick on the model.

The second image encircled  are those boards with m.2 ssd PCIe options.

Hi all.

I saw the differences.

Exist the possibility to change the connector or use an adapter to use this ssd?

Re: Lenovo IdeaPad 330-15IKBR - PCIe SSD slot

Hi Fabian_Cba,

Greetings.

It might be more than just the m.2 connector but also the chipset supported by the board.

To accomodate m.2 PCIe  with a PCIe- SATA adapter can also be an  impractical decision since we would degrade the speed down to SATA instead of enjoying the features of a fast m.2 PCIe.

Regards
