Lenovo Ideapad 100-15IBD 80QQ overheats?

I think my laptop overheats because:

When i play weak games like "Live For Speed", "Gun Rocket", "Polarity", etc, the GPU says it is at 90-93C... I'm always using V-Sync or just locking the fps to 60 because i was thinking it will help me...

I updated BIOS because i was thinking it was because it was outdated but that doesn't helped me...

Is that normal? If no, then if there is solution to fix it or only service can help me? Smiley Happy

Re: Lenovo Ideapad 100-15IBD 80QQ overheats?

Hi Hriso,

Thanks for posting and welcome to the forum!

Yeah, 90-93C does seem too high for the games you mentioned, are you using a cooling pad at all? Have you also tried to update/reinstall the graphics drivers? What OS are you using? How long you had the laptop and what's the average temp in the room you use the laptop?

Re: Lenovo Ideapad 100-15IBD 80QQ overheats?

This is normal as the game is running and full GPU is utilized, if the temp increases more than normal.  I suggest you to use the Laptop by placing it on a flat surface for good ventilation.

Re: Lenovo Ideapad 100-15IBD 80QQ overheats?

The laptop is almost new, i bought it 7-8 months ago. Currently it's running on windows 10 (before was 8.1 and had the same issue). The average room temperature is about 24C...  I'm not using cooling pad but will buy this monday and hope it will lower the temperature. Tried reinstalling graphics card drivers but doesn't helped me... I think 90-93C is a lot of for nvidia 920m 2gb when playing games which are using about 300-500mb memory and are really weak. If somebody have the same laptop, let's say us if he has the same issue. If he has it then it's normal, if not - going to the local service... Smiley Happy
