Re: Lenovo Ideapad 100s change from 32 bit to 64 bit

I have my new Lenovo ideapad and I need to change it to windows 10 64x (it's 32bit now). When I enter the F2 when rebooting, it won't let me switch and when I press the up and down button - it doesn't work. Somebody can help and walk me through the rebooting in order to install Windows 10 64x? I have it on my USB, to which I've downloaded it via Media Maker (I can't recall the name) of Windows.

Re: Lenovo Ideapad 100s change from 32 bit to 64 bit

While the processor is 64 bit, the BIOS is set for only 32 bit operating systems. Given the small and fixed RAM and SSD capacities, 32 bit Windows will work the best. See the discussion for the Stick 300 which has the same hardware at: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-Beacon-Stick-300-D-J-and/Stick-300-Install-WIn-10-64-bit/td-p/2268857

Re: Lenovo Ideapad 100s change from 32 bit to 64 bit

Hi,

I find two 100s models on the support site.  One is 32-bit, one seems to be 64-bit.  100S-11IBY and 100S-14IBR respectively.

In either case, you can get to BIOS or the boot menu by cold-booting via the NOVO button.  Near the power button on both models.

As jinx100 said, if you have a 32-bit BIOS you can't install a 64-bit OS.

Your a "senior Mod" person! please be correct about the Lenovo 100S Chromebook 11IBY model 80QN . It does not have a NOVO button, Correct information would be helpful for other owners of this low end Chromebook. It is the most unsecure chromebook out there

Senior Mod or not, this is not a Chromebook thread.
