Lenovo Ideapad 300-15ISK SMART Drive Self-Test Warning

Hi everyone,

I really hope someone can help me. I bought an Ideapad (300-15ISK - Machine Type 80Q7) about two weeks ago, and I just ran an LSC hardware scan. The laptop passed everything except the SMART drive self-test. I received a warning there and the result code: WHD01V000-UL7CLI

I don't know if this makes a difference, but when I press the power button to switch the laptop on, it makes this little weird noise that sounds like a "spark"  or "static." The laptop is under a one-year warranty, so I'm sure I can get it replaced if this is a serious problem.

Thanks for any and all advice!

Re: Lenovo Ideapad 300-15ISK SMART Drive Self-Test Warning

Hi there, Gayle –

Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.

The Storage Device result code may indicate an imminent failure on the HDD or may just be a false positive error. To verify, can you try to run a hardware scan using the Lenovo Solutions Center or run the storage test from the Individual Diagnostic Tools and post the results here.

But if you get this warning, the drive is failing, either bad sectors or worse. Back up your data ASAP.

I would recommend you to contact Lenovo service center and report your findings. For more details, Schedule a Call-back for faster support.

Update us how it goes.

Re: Lenovo Ideapad 300-15ISK SMART Drive Self-Test Warning

Hi, Shashi,

Thanks so much for your reply. I've updated my LSC software, and I ran another hardware scan. Attached is the snapshot of the Storage device results. Instead of a warning, this time I have a "not applicable" outcome. I have also contacted the service center. Will update you as soon as they give me a solution. Smiley Happy

I have also attached the html report. Hope that helps.
