Lenovo Ideapad 300 Win 8 Brightness Unavailable

Hello, I downgraded my OS from Win 10 to Win 8. It seems like I couldn't get all the drivers updated because there aren't too many drivers available for Win 8 on the support page. The most noticeable problem to my labtop is that I cannot change the brightness of the laptop as well as the airplane mode. Whenever I press on the key F11, 12, and 6, it doesn't do anything. Is there a driver available for download online? Thanks.

Re: Lenovo Ideapad 300 Win 8 Brightness Unavailable

Welcome to the forums Jekkah!

  1. Go to Device Manager
  2. Select Display adaptersand scroll down
  3. Right click on Inter(R) HD Graphics and select Propertiesoption
  4. Go to tab Driversin the pop up window
  5. Push the Rollback Driverbutton (If Rollback Driver is greyed out which means no earlier versions were installed)
  6. Wait until it is done. Your system should recover the brightness and the increase/decrease functions in the keyboard.
  7. If the previous step does not resolve the issue, please upgrade Intel Video Driver to the latest.

Intel Video Driver for Windows 8.1(32-bit  or 64-bit)

Nvidia Video Driver for Windows 8.1(32-bit  or 64-bit)

Lenovo Power Management for Windows 8.1(32-bit, 64-bit)

Check to see if brightness controls have been restored using the brightness keys.

Let us know how you get on.
