My Lenovo ideapad suddenly crashed and no longer loads properly. Now, if I try to turn it on, it no longer shows the Windows start up log in page, and instead shows a black screen with a blue box "Default boot device missing or boot failed. Insert recovery media and hit any key then select 'boot manager ' to choose a new Boot Device or to boot recovery media."
If you press enter while on this screen, it takes you to a grey page that says 'Boot Option Menu'. It shows 2 choices, both saying EFI PXE Network. When either choice is selected, it takes you to the initial default boot missing page.
Any idea on how to fix this? Especially if there is no reboot disc available?

Thanks for using the Lenovo forums.
This more often than not means there is a problem with the harddrive, seeing as how it just crashed on you as well, it has likely failed.
I would recommend that you get in touch with your local Lenovo support line, and they should be able to offer you a repair for the unit.
Below is the link to the phone list where you can find these numbers
Hope this helps, let us know how you get on.
