Re: Lenovo Ideapad 320 fan noise problem

Most of the time cpu's are underclocked so they don't use turbo boost when they want, is a fan problem not a cooling problem, this happens to diffent models(Ideapad 300 series, 500 series and 700 series) and different configurations some with i3 up to i7 and Ryzen 3 up to 7. Mine has a ryzen 5 and vega 8 and the fan when plugged in sounds like an airplane and is just idling sometimes, I tried to limit the CPU to 99% but I bought recently I should be a able to use my laptop at 100% with no fan noise, this is just stupid and we don't have a answer from lenovo.

Re: Lenovo Ideapad 320 fan noise problem

I have the 720S and a couple of things seem to work for me:

Limit the CPU to 98%

Modify/Configure the TDP level

Let me know if either works (I think some on here have tried the first one). Be interesting to know if the second one can be done on  Lenovo laptops other than 720S.

Re: Lenovo Ideapad 320 fan noise problem

This fixed the problem plus in power options/ advanced power options people should decrease the cpu max state to 85% and put fan from active to passive on both settings. Works 100%

Re: Lenovo Ideapad 320 fan noise problem FIX!!!!

1)  Uninstall lenova app finder in control pannel or similar name.

2) Open power settings bottom right, Click change advanced power settings , Under proccesor power managenent tab Turn CPU max proccesor state down to 85% both battery and plugged in, If you want to but you can keep it at 100% but fan will still turn on a little if set high as expected during use

3) system cooling policy tab (((Enable Passive))) on both on battery and plugged in,

Job Done
