Lenovo Ideapad 32015IKB

My laptop (almost a year old) suddenly shut down while I was playing. I thought it was just lowbat then I plugged the charger. But when I tried opening it the power light opens up but then closes after 5 secs or so. Then I saw the charger light blinking while it was charging. After an hour the charger light is not blinking anymore so I tried opening it again and same thing happened power light goes up but disappears and I noticed that the charging light disappeared too and it only comes back when I replug it. Any tips on how to fix this or what might be the problem? Thanks.

Re: Lenovo Ideapad 32015IKB

Hi Desiyo,

You can start by flushing out all static, remove battery and AC adaptor and hold down power button for about 15 seconds.

Check if issue persist in safe mode or not. Also try starting laptop only with adaptor.

Here are some troubleshooting steps I suggested to others who had the same issue.

- Next to try if these doesn't work is to reseat the RAM's, remove them all for couple of seconds then put them back in making sure everything is seated properly.

- If these doesn't work as well test your AC adapter if it's supplying enough voltage or try a different AC adapter if it will make the laptop boot up or not.

- Before concluding that its a hardware issue do open your laptop again and check if everything is connected properly specially the fans and try reapplying new thermal paste on the CPU and GPU. Wipe the old thermal paste completely before applying a new one and make sure that the heat sink is seated properly on the CPU.

- If all these will not work the problem would be the motherboard and a repair is necessary.

Update us how it goes.

Re: Lenovo Ideapad 32015IKB

I have tried removing the battery and when I tried starting the laptop without the battery and only the ac adapter on It still doesn’t open but after trying there is this red light that flashes near the charger port (Attached image). What might that mean?
