Lenovo Ideapad 320S compatible with PCIe M.2 SSD

Hi all

I just bought a Ideapad 320S that came with a 1T SATA hardisk i think of puting in a M.2 ssd as my OS boot drive and 1T hardisk as secondary store disk. Which M.2 SSD is compatible with 320S?? so far i don't see anyone talking about it yet. I have try using my old M.2 sata SSD and i am not able to detect the hard drive in bios, will M.2 PCIe SSD version able to detect?? if yes which brand or model is support for Ideapad 320S.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Lenovo Ideapad 320S compatible with PCIe M.2 SSD

You could try going to Lenovo support entering you model number and looking at hardware maintenance manul, this should list the parts Lenovo fit (including drives).

Re: Lenovo Ideapad 320S compatible with PCIe M.2 SSD

Hi, i have IP320s 14IKB i7 8th gen, 8gb RAM, 256GB SSD, no discrete GPU. Model no. 81BN

The bundled SSD is 2.5" and there is also an empty m.2 slot, I've just installed a Samsung 961 NVME m.2 PCIe 256gb SSD and it works just fine.

The 320s/520s service manual suggests in the 'parts overall' list p.73 item 6 that Toshiba xg4 and Samsung 961 are compatible with this range. They are both PCIE, I've tested the Samsung 961 with this model and it is working.

hope that helps!
