Lenovo Ideapad 330 81DE00LAUS

I want to buy this laptop from Walmart:

I know it has a soldered 4gb RAM and I already know it is DDR4 2133 mhz, but that is not enough information, I want to know the exact specifications of this RAM so I can buy the same one for the additional dimm slot. I need to know the rank x8 or x16, and also the CAS or CL number for this RAM. I need these numbers to buy the correct one to add into this system.

Any particular target max upgrade you are planning?

 

MTM does not have it yet with the overview in the parts lookup page so we cannot details the specific part number that goes with it just yet. Unless we have an actual serial number when purchased can we be specific.

 

However, using the model type 81DE here would show probable OEM ram that goes with the machine. Check this discussion for upgrade reference on this variant machine. If the board have 4GB soldered then it is likely that max ram would be up to 12 GB (different from 16 GB max ram for those with non-soldered 4GB ram boards to have one 16GB DDR4 memory add-on).

 

Here is also the FRU list from the hardware manual (page 83-84 item 5) to give you the details you are looking for. Part number SM30N76488 (8GB DDR4 26S M471A1K43CB1-CTD) is one of the likely choice for upgrading. The manufacturing number from Samsung here would give you the details like Rank x Org. 1R x 8 , CAS supported 10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18, 19,20, voltage 1.2 V, speed 2666 Mbps, pin 260, error correction Non ECC .

Hello, can the laptop support a 16gb DIMM

 

I already have bought this product the laptop that is and I have a 1tb kingstoK SSD drive to swap for the original 1tb HDD but I want to know if I can buy a 8gb Sodimm ir a 16gb sodimm

 

I've foung crusial 16gb 2133 Dimm that's could be used for the upgrade but I need to know if to can be used before buying it.

Hi! Base on the model variant, The maximum memory that you can get is 16GB 2400MHz DDR4. The DIMM most likely won't fit, it has to be SO-DIMM. You check for more information here: https://psref.lenovo.com/Product/Lenovo_Laptops/ideapad_330_15_Intel. Hope that answers your question.
