Lenovo Ideapad 330 short Wi-Fi drops

2019-10-17, 21:43 PM

For a while now ive suffered from fairly frustrating drops in my Wi-Fi while doing things on my laptop, its only really noticible when gaming and when it happens it is incredibly frustrating. From everything ive checked its on my end rather than that of the game and after a check from my ISP a few months ago they came back reporting that there was no issue so it (probably) is to do with my laptop. I followed the steps on this https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/ht502846 guide but ive still been suffering with short bursts of disconnections. Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated.

What wifi network card is fitted?

Look in Device manager > Network Adapters

There are problems with Realtek wifi cards.

Most wifi routers are dual band AC wireless.

Are you connecting to your wifi using 2.4 or 5 GHz ?

Do you witness problem when connected to a different wireless router/network ?

(I don't work for Lenovo)
